Safety House

The community has a Safety House Program which provides a number of safe houses for children to use as a refuge if feeling threatened or in the event of other emergencies on the way to and from school.

Our school has an active and responsible Safety House Committee. This committee ensures the safety of your child through the establishment of the Safety House system. If a child is in danger or feels threatened they can go into a Safety House (whose occupants have been carefully screened) and seek assistance. The police will be called and the matter dealt with.

Child safety is a concern for the whole community and we seek your support. Contact can be made through the school office.

Have you considered becoming a safety house yourself?

Teach your children to recognise the Safety House symbol and how to use a Safety House.  They should be familiar with the safety houses along the route between home and school.
